During the visit to Kazakhstan, the transportation authorities of China and Kazakhstan jointly organized the opening of the China Europe Trans Caspian Express.
The opening of the China Europe Trans Caspian Sea Express is a powerful measure for both China and Kazakhstan to implement the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries on the construction of the Trans Caspian Sea International Transport Corridor. It is a comprehensive implementation of the 2023 China Kazakhstan Government Agreement on International Road Transport and the China Kazakhstan Government Agreement on the Development of Cross Caspian Sea International Transport Lines. It is the first time that China's international road transport vehicles have implemented direct road transport across Kazakhstan and the Caspian Sea to Europe, marking the formal connection of the "fourth logistics channel" between China and Kazakhstan, in addition to shipping, sea transportation, and railways. At present, the China Europe freight train's cross Caspian Sea intermodal transportation route has achieved stable operation, and more diversified international multimodal transportation routes will be developed in the cross Caspian Sea transport corridor, including road, railway, shipping, and air transportation.
On June 26, a transport fleet consisting of 16 freight vehicles from Zhengzhou Hongyi Transport, Shandong Longchen International and Xinjiang Kangaroo Express started from Khorgos Port in Xinjiang, passed through Almaty, Aralsk and Kulisare in Kazakhstan, arrived at Kurek Port, boarded the Caspian Sea ferry with 10 freight vehicles sent by Kazakhstan, and then transported to Baku Port in Azerbaijan through ro ro transport, and then to Georgia, Türkiye and other places. The longest mileage of freight vehicles in China is about 4800 kilometers, and it takes about 8 to 11 days from Khorgos Port in China to the destination country.
The relevant person in charge of the Transport Service Department of the Ministry of Transport introduced that the goods being transported this time mainly include wind turbine accessories and electronic products from the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions. The carrier vehicles hold TIR documents to achieve one-time declaration and direct delivery throughout the process, effectively saving logistics costs and improving transportation efficiency.
Li Ruibin, Chairman of Zhengzhou Hongyi Transport Company and representative of the carriers participating in this event, said that the opening of the event is another breakthrough in China's international road transportation, providing new options for enterprises to connect with Europe and making the logistics routes between China and Europe more diversified. Liu Zhilin, a driver from Shandong Longchen International Logistics, said that the opening of the event has inspired him to see the rapid development of national international logistics.

The opening of the China EU direct trans Caspian express line has built a new transport corridor connecting the Eurasian continent and crossing the Caspian Sea for the first time.
